Spill Suppression in Shake Using ColorX node
OK, this isn’t a video tutorial, but it is so quick and easy I didn’t think a video, or accompanying assets were necessary.
The great thing about shake is how versatile each node truly is, and how you can build off of individual nodes to come to almost any result. Expressions are also priceless. In this micro tutorial post I will show you one of the greatest single nodes a compositor can have in his bag of tricks.
Do you hate how after you have spent so much time carefully building and pulling a key off of some green screen footage you just shot you still have all that green spill. All you want to do is move on to compositing your shot but that sickly green glow that surrounds your actor in your flipbook totally crushes your high. Worry no more. Just drop in the ColorX node after you have pulled a key and applied a Switch Matte and all that green spill will be zapped from the shot.
In the Parameters1 tab twirl down the gExpr and add this line of code:
g>(r+b)/2?(r+b)/2:g
Any green spill should be instantly removed.
